Yoga/Meditation Teacher

We are Ning, Adam and Family from True Nature Chiang Mai. We are a relatively new yoga/meditation retreat center located in beautiful, quiet setting in the mountainside where we have been steadily developing over the past 2 years. You can read more about us here:

We have reached a point in our development where it would be nice to have another yoga/meditation teacher on hand to assist with some of the teaching. We have offered this opportunity only once before and we were swamped with applications, so if you don’t get an immediate response, please be patient. We do our best to respond to everyone, but if you don’t get a response at all we apologize, it’s nothing personal.

The Exchange: We are looking for a candidate to spend 1 month or more with us anytime between October 5^th and December 20^th. The exchange is flexible depending on your skills but we would expect 1 class per day in return for Food ( 3 delicious vegetarian meals per day) and Board in a comfortable private room. It’s quite a light workload so you will have plenty of free time to enjoy the beautiful nature, continue developing your personal practice and explore the local area or even borrow a scooter to visit the city when you feel like it.

In the long term we are looking for regular teachers who can return to work with us on a yearly basis in a paid position. However, the volunteering phase is essential as we need to officially meet you and see how you fit in with the team and environment

Our center shares 2 yoga sessions per day ranging from Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and restorative. Its important that you have the skills and ability teach both dynamic/active practices along with the more slow/passive practices. Our guests are a mix of all ages, experiences and skill levels, so it’s absolutely essential to have the skill set to teach multi-level classes with lots of inclusion, modifications and variations for everyone to explore.

Every yoga session is followed by a 20-minute meditation, for this reason Candidates will need to have a strong personal meditation practice and the ability to guide, share and answer questions regarding the meditation. some guests will have 0 meditation experience so they will need clear guidance and support in this area.

It’s important to note that our center is very much community orientated. You will be meeting new people every day single day, all our meals are shared together at 1 large communal table and all our daily activities are enjoyed as a group. If you have not lived in this kind of setting before it can sometimes be intense and overwhelming. For that reason, it’s important that your comfortable in your own skin, a good communicator and enjoy being part of a group environment.

The Candidate:

• should have at least 3 years teaching experience, teaching at other retreat centers will be highly regarded.
• Be comfortable and skillful in teaching multi-level classes that will consist of intermediate, complete beginner and sometimes advanced students.
• Thrive as being part of a team and a member of the community
• be patient, kind and social with all of our guests
• Other skills like social media, videography, graphic design are advantageous
• must have experience in personal meditation as well as guiding and sharing.
• the opportunity to learn and practice with senior teachers of 15 years+
